Bespoke Monthly Coaching Plans

I offer bespoke monthly coaching plans … for triathlon, swimming, cycling, or running. Whether your goals are performance or participation, I can help.

Plans include strength and conditioning specific to your sport and your biomechanics. Plans are written to fit within, and to take account of, the demands of your work and other life commitments.

 

Yoga Workshops

Yoga workshops are an opportunity to explore an aspect of yoga in more depth.

I like to keep the length of my workshops to 3 hours in duration. This allows you an opportunity to learn some of the theory of the subject but have time also to experience how to put that learning into practice. A workshop differs from a class as it is a more interactive experience with opportunities to ask questions and gain deeper understanding of the subject than you might be able to or wish to in your usual class.

All of my workshops are suitable for everyone, even those with no previous yoga experience. If in doubt, please ask me for more information. Also, if there is a subject related to yoga, health or fitness which you have always wanted to know more about please do let me know. It might be just the prompt I need to design a workshop around it.


Know Your Core & Work Your Core Workshop

Sunday 3rd February – 10.00 to 13.00
The Yoga Studio, Tavistock

Your core is about so much more than a ‘six-pack’ (or not). This workshop will teach you about the anatomy and physiology of the layers of your core and will enable you to learn and experience how you need to work in order to have effective and functional core strength and stability.
 
No previous experience of yoga or core conditioning is needed and it will be suitable for all levels of fitness.

Yoga & Bodyweight Strength & Conditioning For Sportspeople Workshop

Saturday 9th February – 14.00 to 17.00
The Yoga Studio, Tavistock

Learn how to identify your biomechanical strengths and weaknesses and how to create a strength and conditioning programme for your sport or activity which addresses your own individual needs. This is a theoretical and practical workshop which is suitable for all sportspeople. No previous experience of strength and conditioning, yoga, or bodyweight exercises is needed.

Yoga Soup For The Soul Workshop

Saturday 30th March – 14.00 to 17.00
The Yoga Studio, Tavistock

Learn how to reduce your anxiety and stress responses, how to heal yourself physically and emotionally, and how to build emotional strength. Life continually throws things at us to deal with and yoga offers many ways to help you survive and thrive. This workshop offers an opportunity to explore and experience some of the tools yoga offers to help you emotionally as well as physically.

This is a theoretical and practical workshop which is suitable for all. No previous experience of yoga is needed.

I can put on private workshops on request for your group. The picture here was taken at an evening session I led for the women attending a mountain biking weekend. The stretches were a welcome release after a hard day of riding and helped them prepare for the next day.

I also offer CPD workshops for yoga teachers who are teaching athletes, helping to educate about the specific training needs athletes have and how to maximise training adaptation whilst avoiding over or under-training.

Personal Training

Personal training can take many forms.  Sessions can be designed to suit your preferences, your work routine, be specific to your fitness or competitive goals, and devised to best match your level and type of motivation.

I have a BSc in Sports Science and Sports Psychology and REPs gym instructor qualification in addition to my years of coaching and participation experience and use this knowledge to inform my personal training plans.

Whether you wish to work with free weights, prefer circuits, or wish to combine running, cycling or swimming with yoga, I can help you meet, or exceed, your fitness goals. I can also help you identify suitable goals if you do not yet know what they might be. In addition, I will help you overcome your personal barriers to participation or the things which may have previously caused you to give up training.

Some of my clients are recovering from injury and wish to particularly focus on the imbalances which contributed to their injury to prevent recurrence. Others are interested in building an overall healthy, strong, conditioned body either to perform better in their chosen sporting activities or simply to live life in an optimal way.

I can offer sessions are your home or workplace or at an indoor or outdoor venue (or more than one) in Cornwall or Devon. Some of my clients choose to do regular sessions at one venue. Others are happy to mix up their training to keep their interest levels high and to continually challenge their body in new ways.

Sessions can be daily, weekly, fortnightly, or occasional.
